Midgets Wrestle Destin

More than 200 people plowed through the doors of Destin's Nightown on Monday, March 27 for the most politically incorrect show that has ever made its way to the Emerald Coast – Monday night Midget Wrestling.

The $10 event, which was well worth the money, was hosted by Puppet the Psycho Dwarf – a 4 foot, 4 inch, 150-pound midget. Puppet brought along his midget cousin, Justice and Little Kato. Collectively they are known as the Half Pint Brawlers.

The Half Pint Brawlers have been touring the country since 1999 as part of the Rok’um Sok’um Tour. These little guys are no strangers to the public. You can read about them in popular magazines, watch them in cheesy movies and hit TV shows, and see them perform with your favorite musicians across the country.

The first battle broke out between Justice and Little Kato. At first, everything appeared as an ordinary wrestling match on the exception of the little people on the mats. Then, the fight took a turn that was really not necessary.

A beer bottle was broken on stage, and Little Kato drove a piece of the broken glass into Justice’s forehead. It went downhill from there.

Justice and Puppet entered the ring for the second match of the evening. It got ugly. Staple guns, broken glass and thumbtacks entered the brawl. Little people flew through the air. Most of this battle took place outside of the ring.

Bar-goers watched on anxiously as they awaited the next moves. Midgets were thrown through bar stools and off tables and countertops. Glass beer bottles continued to pound the floors of Nightown as bloody midgets defended their title.

The wrestling came to a halt after two matches, but the crowds were not disappointed. Midgets came back out and partied with guests on the dance floor.

If watching midget wrestling was not enough, two former MTV Real World cast members also made their appearance. Drooling fans got to catch glimpses of Ace from the Paris season and Trishelle from the Las Vegas season. Some were disappointed to see that the two were only interested in chatting it up with each other. Do we sense a little romance in the air or just drunk Real World cast members?

What a night? Midgets, wrestling, blood, staple guns, thumbtacks, broken beer bottles, yelling and screaming drunks, Real World cast members … there are very few venues on the Emerald Coast that can offer you all of these and more at once.

If you are tired of the same old scene in Destin, put Nightown on your schedule for April 10. The Half Pint Brawlers will return to Nightown for their last appearance this year. This is one show that you do not want to miss!
