Dancing in the Sand

When the sun goes down on Navarre Beach, it is time to head to Juana’s Pagodas – everyone’s favorite beach bar.

Imagine listening to live music with the scent of the ocean lingering in the air – your toes are curled in the sand and your body sways gently to the beat.

This happens every night at Juana’s Pagodas …

Juana’s is only one of two bars in Navarre, and there is never a cover charge. During the spring and summer months, this place attracts quite a crowd, servicing tourists, residents and partiers in neighboring cities.

This Asian-inspired tiki hut is like no other place on the Emerald Coast. Once you walk through the doors, you embark on a new world that is always changing.

Some of these changes are forced …

In 2004, Hurricane Ivan blew through the area, destroying everything in its path. Juana’s worked quickly to clean up the damage and reopen for business. In 2005, another nightmare hit Navarre Beach – Hurricane Dennis completely destroyed the roof of Juana’s.

The community and the dedicated staff pitched in and rebuilt the area’s favorite beach bar. Juana’s reopened for business in March 2006 – even better than before.

Kick off your shoes and work your way up to the dance floor
The highlight of the beach bar is definitely the dance floor – the only dance floor on the Emerald Coast made entirely of sand. Dancing in the sand is not as easy as it sounds, but bar-goers have the best time trying as they listen to the sounds of the Emerald Coast.

Every Friday and Saturday, Juana’s becomes host to some of the area’s best musicians. Bands, such as Marsha, Marsha, Marsha, Deja Vu, Beyond Reason and Fortunes Fool, play here regularly.

Grab a beer and play some volleyball
Even though Juana’s is not a full-service bar, the atmosphere alone makes up for it. For the drinking fans, Juana’s serves up more than 75 different beers – choose between a delicious draft beer or an ice cold bottle. The bar also serves wine and a few cocktail drinks for other taste buds.

And, who can forget Juana’s claim to fame? With several volleyball courts on its grounds, partiers can play a game of beach volleyball with music playing in the background as they sip on their favorite beer or cocktail.
